  65. Sure.  Substitute a borrowed modem without changing anything
  66. else and see if the problems you've described persist.  If
  67. so, you owe PPI a public apology.  If not, let us know what
  68. your init string is and we'll try to get it straight for you
  69. without all the wailing and knashing of teeth.  Sheesh!
